ABOUT US Karin and I have lived next door to each other in Houston for years; she is originally from Holland and I’m from the west coast. As we got to know each other we found that we both loved making beautiful things – from exciting jewelry and glass pieces (that’s Karin) to needlepointing Christmas stockings and pillows along with holiday wreaths (that’s me). During the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, our street was flooded so we spent a week sitting in our driveways admiring our ‘lake view’ and decided to pool our talents and start Benschop & Beck (our last names).
Our work has evolved from handmade ornaments and decorative glass plates to working with glass vases and bowls using paper and fabric through a technique called two-sided decoupage. In addition to our work with glass, we also decoupage flower pots and tissue boxes. Our pieces can be used as decorations in bookcases or to add a pop of color to a countertop. The glass vases, bowls and plates can be used to decorate a table, or as serving pieces - just handwash and dry before storing. We are constantly trying new things, We make everything we sell (so it’s all one of a kind) and are happy to make custom pieces. We hope you enjoy our creations. Please feel free to drop us a line and visit with us. Sue & Karin |
